Top Schools in the State

DCSD proudly announces that two of its schools have achieved the highest honors in the state. According to the latest U.S. News & World Report annual rankings, Kittredge Magnet School and Wadsworth Magnet School for High Achievers have been named the number one and two elementary schools in Georgia, respectively.

Druid Hills Modernization

Monday, November 18

6:00 - 7:30 p.m.

DCSD will host its third meeting on Druid Hills High School modernization. We're asking Druid Hills families to attend and provide feedback.

Thanksgiving Beak

Schools will be closed November 25-29 for the Thanksgiving break. We hope everyone gets some much-needed rest and quality time with family and friends. Have a happy Thanksgiving!

$50,000 Donation

DeKalb County Commissioner Michelle Long Spears has made a significant investment in the future of local students by donating $50,000 to the DeKalb Schools Educational Foundation, Inc. This substantial gift will fund science field trips for schools within District 2, enabling students who might otherwise be unable to afford such experiences to engage in enriching, hands-on learning outside the classroom.

Saving Our Students

DCSD is asking families to stand with us against gun violence by attending the second Circling Up For SOS session at Bethune Middle School, located at 5200 Covington Highway, Decatur, GA 30035.

Family Literacy Day

Saturday, November 23

10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

The Department of Family and Community Empowerment will host Family Literacy Day at Indian Creek Elementary School, located at 724 N. Indian Creek Road, Clarkston, GA 30021. There will be book giveaways and meet & greet sessions with authors.

SAP Survey

Open until November 30

The SAP Community Survey is open until November 30. We need your voice in important recommendations related to schools, boundaries, and programs. So far, we have a little over 2,000 survey responses and our goal is 7,000. Please help us by sharing your voice! Once the surveys are complete, the District will share aggregate information on the SAP Community Feedback page.  

Art Show

Open until December 22

The Galleries at Art Station will feature art work from DCSD middle and high school artists. The gallery is open Tuesday - Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Public Budget Survey

Open until January 17, 2025

DCSD is requesting feedback from stakeholders in the development of the FY26 budget for the District.


As we strive to align our budget with the District's Strategic Plan, vision, and goals, your thoughts and opinions will help us determine the services needed for our students, employees, and community.
