DCSD will host three meetings on Druid Hills High School modernization. We're asking Druid Hills families to attend and provide feedback. The first meeting will be held on Monday, September 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Druid Hills High School.
DCSD is hosting a series of Town Hall meetings. The next meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 1, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at Stone Mountain High School. The meetings will also be streamed on DSTV. For more details, click here for English and here for Spanish.
Families can learn more about school options at DCSD’s School Choice Expo on Saturday, September 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Administrative and Instructional Complex in Stone Mountain. School Choice Open Enrollment for the 2025-26 school year begins on October 1. Families have until October 31 to apply. DCSD offers multiple school options to meet the unique needs of all students. The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced on September 11 that three outstanding DCSD high school students have been named as semifinalists for this year’s National Merit Scholarship Program. Lakeside High School seniors Henry Fonder-Kristy, Andrew Heller, and Edward Rauch are among the 16,000 semifinalists nationwide. Click here to read more.
DCSD is improving safety measures at its elementary schools with the new Elementary Security Associate (ESA) position. With the support of the Board of Education, new ESAs are responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of stakeholders by monitoring campus activity, managing necessary precautions vital to the protection of the staff and students, and better ensuring secure learning environments.
