Lithonia High School hosted its inaugural student job fair on March 2. The day-long event featured some of the region’s top employers, poised to interview and hire from the field of more than 400 students on the spot.
Firms such as Publix and Forever 21 interviewed students for job opportunities with potential for promotion. In addition, employers including UPS and Six Flags Over Georgia actively engaged students while simultaneously providing information about their respective companies. Work Source DeKalb also offered an array of comprehensive workforce solutions for its clients.
The event was beneficial to students, who received interviews, job offers and/or career advice according to Principal Yolanda Peek.
“Our students have been brimming with excitement since we announced the event. We believe that they were as prepared as they were excited,” Peek said.
The event was organized by Lithonia’s student engagement coach, Raven Heard.
