The Executive Director, Assistant Director, and Coordinators hold master’s degrees in nutrition, food service management, or education and are certified by the Georgia Department of Education.
Each school nutrition manager must complete 150 hours of training from a core curriculum consisting of personnel management, operations, nutrition and menu management, quantity food production, and marketing during their first five years.
An advanced thirty hour course must be completed every three years to maintain certification. School nutrition assistants are licensed through the School Nutrition Association’s certification program which requires a thirty hour orientation course during their first year and twelve hours of continuing education every three years.

School Nutrition Managers and Assistant Managers are required to obtain ServSafe Certification in food protection and food handling.
The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is valid for five years from the date of the examination. The ServSafe Certificate is nationally recognized.
Managers and Assistant Managers are trained to practice food safety techniques during meal preparation and service for our students and staff.
