High Achievers Magnet (Elementary)
The High Achievers Magnet Program offers a unique educational experience to students in grades 4—8 who possess the intellectual potential, aptitude, and functional ability to achieve in a rigorous academic environment. The magnet program for high achieving students is comprehensive. It is designed to enable students to be creative, independent in action, critical in thoughts, and effective in communication. Students must adhere to the written continuation guidelines.

- Eligibility
- Reside within any DeKalb County School District Attendance Zone
- 3.0 or higher overall GPA as of the previous semester
- Current year baseline MAP Total Reading Score of 75th percentile (or higher)
- Current year baseline MAP Total Math Score of 75th percentile (or higher)
- *Baseline scores represent the first the time the MAP was taken in the current year. Testing for DeKalb residents who are enrolled in a private or homeschool is available. See dates and details.

- Grade 4 Only: 1st round of lottery 3 eligible students from each elementary school in Dekalb are selected. The remaining seats are at-large.

- Kittredge Magnet School students matriculate to Chamblee Middle School automatically
- Wadsworth Magnet School students matriculate to Southwest DeKalb High School
- Continuation Guidelines
- Students must maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA.
- 71% or higher in all core subjects.
- Promotion to the next grade level.
- Students who fail to meet the continuation guidelines or no longer wish to enroll in Magnet program courses will have to enroll in their home attendance area school.
