The Dekalb County School District Fleet Service Department is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective management, repair, and service of school buses, support vehicles, and other necessary equipment, to support student success and district operations. This includes but is not limited to, the acquisition, maintenance, repair, service, and disposal of motorized and non-motorized vehicles, and equipment. To accomplish these functions, Fleet develops processes and procedures that ensure DCSD organizes and coordinates the safe operation of vehicles. Fleet uses industry standards and strategies to improve efficiency, improve safety, reduce costs, and comply with regulatory compliance.
The Fleet Department supports 1113 school buses, 381 support vehicles, and various types and quantities of equipment. Fleet operates three (3) maintenance facilities and two (2) temporary service garages.
