DeKalb County School District (DCSD) joins school districts nationwide May 7 through May 11 in celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week.
DCSD employs more than 8,500 teachers at 137 elementary, middle and high school facilities throughout DeKalb County. Each classroom offers students a unique perspective on learning because of our teachers’ individual commitment, dedication and passion for education.
“Teacher Appreciation Week is a chance to thank each educator for inspiring young minds on a daily basis,” said DCSD Superintendent/CEO Dr. R. Stephen Green. “It’s an opportunity to acknowledge teachers’ influence, not just the futures of our children, but the future of the nation. In DeKalb County, our teachers are planting seeds of success every minute, every hour, every day. The deep teaching and learning occurring at our school district is not just teacher to student, but heart to heart.”
Remember, in DCSD, “Teaching in DCSD is a work of heart.”
