Sequoyah Middle School, along with Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) of Georgia and Fuel Up to Play-60 (FUTP-60), will host a virtual kick-off Jan. 12 to celebrate its new partnership.
The event will feature guest speakers, including Atlanta Falcons safety Ricardo Allen, former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Buddy Curry, Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders and the Atlanta Falcons Corporate Partnership team. Students participating in the PBIS initiative will also be eligible to win prizes such as autographed footballs and hats by Atlanta Falcons players.
PBIS is an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school’s sense of safety and support improved academic outcomes. More than 1,400 Georgia schools and 27,000 nationwide have been trained in PBIS.
Fuel Up to Play-60 empowers students and educators to work together to build healthier schools and create healthy, high achieving students.
PBIS and FUTP-60 aligned their core concepts to ensure that students are provided with the tools to create changes that lead to significant improvement in their social, emotional, physical and academic health.
