Two schools proudly welcome new leadership as Dr. Malik Douglas takes the helm at Cedar Grove High School and Dr. Laurie Jackson leads Kingsley Elementary School.

Dr. Douglas has an impressive ten-year tenure as the principal at Eagle’s Landing Middle School in Henry County. In addition to his extensive education experience, he has a distinguished military background, having served in both the United States Navy and the United States Army since 1989. Notably, in January 2024, he became a lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army.

Dr. Jackson served as interim principal at Kingsley for seven weeks before being appointed permanent principal. Her tenure with the District began in 2001, and she has served in multiple capacities, including as a teacher, instructional coach, instructional support specialist, and assistant principal.

“Congratulations to these two outstanding leaders who have stepped up to the plate to take on the difficulty of assuming the principal role in the middle of the school year,” said DCSD Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton. “We are excited to see how these leaders will continue the mission of taking these two outstanding schools to New Levels and New Heights.”
