DeKalb County School District (DCSD) and community partners unveil new mobile pediatric medical clinic at kickoff event.
A pediatric mobile health unit capable of providing care for students regardless of family income was unveiled on Oct. 12, 2017, at a special event featuring the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) and Kids’-Doc-On-Wheels, Inc.
Kids’ Doc on Wheels unit, a RV converted into a full-service clinic, was presented by community leaders such as Superintendent/CEO R. Stephen Green, DeKalb Board of Education member Vicki Turner, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Katerina Taylor, and Dr. Lynette Wilson Phillips.
When operating, pediatricians on board will provide children from newborns to age 18 with services such as pediatrics, asthma care, dental services, behavioral health, immunizations, physicals, telemedicine and more, regardless of insurance coverage. Ultimately, the van will service students at four DCSD schools.
