Ten DeKalb County schools have been recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Title I Reward Schools for the 2015-2016 school year.
Two DeKalb County Title I schools were awarded the Highest-Performing School designation. Highest-Performing Schools are among the five percent of the state’s Title I schools with the absolute highest performance on the statewide assessments over a three year span. DeKalb schools earning the Highest-Performing Reward are:
- DeKalb Early College Academy
- Wynbrooke Elementary School
Eight DeKalb County Title I schools were awarded the High-Progress School Designation. High-Progress Schools are among the ten percent of the state’s Title I schools making the most progress in improving the performance of students on the statewide assessments over a three year span. DeKalb schools earning the High-Progress Reward are:
- DeKalb Elementary School of the Arts
- Evansdale Elementary School
- Huntley Hills Elementary School
- Marbut Elementary School
- McLendon Elementary School
- Midvale Elementary School
- Rainbow Elementary School
- The Champion Theme Middle School
“We are proud of these schools because they are at the forefront of high achieving schools in both performance and consistency over time,” Superintendent R. Stephen Green said. “Students and faculty at each of these campuses have put in the hard work and effective practices required to raise the bar. The most exciting aspect of these honors is our knowledge that those schools will continue to push even further to achieve excellence.”
