Elementary Schools – Decorate school front door/entrance with the DCSD College Day theme. You may decorate your classroom doors and hallways, but this competition will only focus on those decorating their school front door/entrance. Make this a school wide activity and have everyone join the fun. The school that is most creative in coming up with a design that reflects a DCSD College Day theme will win. Rubric below.
Middle Schools – Create a short video (1 minute or less) on the topic “what can college and career readiness do for us.” Making short videos is the craze. Your video can be up to 1 minute. Videos longer than 1 minute will not be eligible. Your video must include students and staff and reflect the theme “what college can do for us.” Rubric below.
High Schools – Create a social media post on one of your school’s social media pages. It’s time to flood social media with all things positive and all things college. To participate in this competition, your school must create content to post on one of your school’s social media pages. Must include hashtags #myfutureisbright, #ilovedcsd, and #collegegoals, DeKalb County School District, and your school’s name. Must tag @dekalbschools. Social media posts start on 03-28-2023 and we will end and tally the likes at 3:45 P.M. on 03-29-2023. Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter platforms only. The school with the most likes will win.
