The 2024 New Teacher Orientation (NTO) is designed for new teachers and paraprofessionals with 0 – 3 years of teaching experience. Teachers who were hired after the 2023 NTO are also invited to attend.
Each of the four interactive NTO professional learning days will provide an overview of district expectations, instructional framework updates, and district resources.
The sessions will be in-person at the Administrative and Instructional Complex (AIC) 1701 Mountain Industrial Boulevard, Stone Mountain, GA 30083 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Different content/area information and resources will be featured each day. Teachers should bring their laptop.
Day 1 (July 15th) will feature a Continental Breakfast (7:00 a.m. – 8:15 a.m.) in the AIC Board Room. The Opening “Welcome to DeKalb” Session will begin in the AIC Auditorium at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will also be provided.
We strongly encourage new teachers and paraprofessionals to attend all four days of NTO to gain powerful strategies for impactful teaching.

- Paraprofessionals will receive $38.00 per day for attending and completing an NTO artifact.
