The 2024 GHSA Girls’ Flag Football State Playoffs begin on Thursday, December 5 with six DeKalb squads playing to reach the quarterfinals with wins in the playoff pods.

The Redan Lady Raiders host in Division 1 as Elite Scholars, Telfair County and Portal travel to Hallford Stadium on Thursday.

Redan (16-2-1) went undefeated in Area 6 to earn the host role and face off with Area 7 No. 4 seed Elite Scholars at 5:30 pm in the opening game of the night.

Area 2 No. 2 seed Telfair County (8-3) meets Area 3 No. 3 seed Portal (10-6) at 6:30 pm. The two winners meet at 7:30 pm with a berth in the Monday, December 9 quarterfinals on the line.

In other Division 1 state playoff action, the Area 6 No. 2 seed Miller Grove Wolverines (9-5) travel to Southeast Bulloch to take on Area 7 No. 3 seed Douglass (11-6) at 5:00 pm. Area 4 No. 1 seed Southeast Bulloch (15-1) takes on Area 3 No. 4 seed Wheeler County (10-4) at 6:15 pm and the Sweet 16 round contest between the two winners is set for 7:30 pm.

DIVISION 3 STATE PLAYOFFS
DeKalb has four teams playing on the road in the Division 3 state playoffs as they vie for wins and moving on to the quarterfinals on Monday, December 9.

Area 8 No. 2 seed Southwest DeKalb (14-4-1) heads to South Effingham to take on Area 2 No. 3 seed Veterans (7-6) in the 6:15 pm game following host and Area 1 No. 1 seed South Effingham (10-4) matchup with Area 5 No. 4 seed Hiram (10-4) set for a 5:00 pm start.

The winners meet at 7:30 pm in the Sweet 16 round.

Tucker, the Area 8 No. 3 seed, goes on the road to Lithia Springs to take on Area 2 No. 2 seed Warner Robins (14-4) at 5:30 pm. The winner moves into the Sweet 16 to face the winner of host Lithia Springs (13-5) and Camden County (6-7) at 7:30 pm to challenge for a spot in the quarterfinals next week.

Druid Hills (8-9), the Area 8 No. 4 seed, goes on the road to face Area 2 No. 1 seed Peach County (12-3) at Peach County on Thursday at 6:00 pm. The winner moves on to the Sweet 16 at 8:00 pm against the South Paulding (13-11)/Effingham (8-10) winner.

Dunwoody (12-7), the Area 4 No. 4 seed, travels to Area 3 No. 1 seed Morrow (14-2) for a 5:30 pm meeting to play for a spot in the Sweet 16. The Dunwoody/Morrow winner advances to the 7:30 pm game against the winner of Blessed Trinity (17-3) and Woodstock (16-8).
