Redan placed 5 runners in the first 13 finishers to collect 16 points in taking the title in final DeKalb boys’ regular season cross country meet at Arabia Mountain on Tuesday afternoon.

Redan took the three-team title 16 to 58 over Lithonia while Cedar Grove finished third with 61 in the boys’ team competition.

Stephenson’s Gene Jones took the boys’ individual title in 21:50.90 with Redan’s tandem Shaun Thornton (22:32.30) in second and Micah Thompkins (22:48.20) in third to key the Redan team win.

Redan’s Amari Duess (23:36.40) was eighth and Patrick Yidin (23:45.30) was tenth to give the Raiders four Top 10 finishers. Redan’s Gabriel Ojo (24:28.80) clinched the title coming in 13th overall.

Lithonia’s top finisher was Nkosi Sutherland (24:24.60) came in 12th while Cedar Grove’s leader was Bryan Sanchez (24:57.00) who came in 15th.

Stone Mountain’s Ramon Scott (22:52.60) ran to a Top 5 finish edging out Arabia Mountain’s Kristian Oliver (22:54.30) for fourth. Arabia Mountain’s Quin-En Sawyer (23:05.90) gave the Rams two Top 10 finishers.

Columbia’s Darren Mix (23:28.80) gave the Eagles Top 10 finish crossing in seventh and Stephenson’s Todd Burton (23:42.20) gave the Jaguars a pair of runners in the Top10 finishing in ninth.

The girls’ race only had nine participants and no team had the qualifying number of finishers to get a team score.

Stone Mountain’s Shekinah Williams (27:18.00) nipped Stephenson’s Breona Issac (27:18.40) by .40 of a second to claim the individual title of the girls’ race.

Arabia Mountain took the next four finishes led by Kenya Dean (29:59.10) in third and followed in order by Ania Andrews (31:05.20), Andrea James (32:08.70) and Naomi-Sole Rufus (32:47.20).

Columbia’s Javona Riley (33:08.90) was seventh with a pair of Stephenson runners following in Kimora Mignot (33:25.30) and Julian Brown (33:59.50).
