The Lakeside Vikings built a 34-17 lead and held on as they knocked off the Dunwoody Wildcats 34-31 in a Region 4-5A high school football meeting at Adams Stadium on Friday night.

Lakeside quarterback Kyle Davis ran for a pair of touchdowns in the second quarter to send the Vikings (3-2, 2-0) to a 21-17 lead at the half.

He then added to the lead with a 21-yard touchdown pass to Jayson Michel in the third quarter. Tristen Lewis scored the second of his two touchdowns on the night with a six-yard scamper to the end zone after a big tackle for a loss by senior defensive tackle Makhi Williams-Lee gave the Vikings good field position.

The Wildcats (1-4, 0-2) put two scores up in the fourth quarter to put the pressure on before coming up short.

Lakeside hosts Tri-Cities (4-0, 2-0) which knocked off Shiloh 20-18 on Thursday at Adams Stadium. Dunwoody faces off with undefeated Decatur (5-0, 2-0) at North DeKalb Stadium on Friday.
