All 19 DeKalb volleyball teams along with Decatur return to play in the annual Spikefest on Saturday at Chamblee and Miller Grove High Schools as a big kickoff and first matches for teams in the 2024 high school volleyball season.

Each site will host 10 teams broken into two pools with action beginning at 8:00 am on Saturday (Aug. 10).

Pool 1 at Chamblee includes the host Lady Bulldogs along with Clarkston, Lakeside, Southwest DeKalb and Tucker. Chamblee and Lakeside open play in the 8:00 am match as all teams are set to play four matches. Chamblee, Lakeside, Southwest DeKalb and Tucker all reached the state playoffs a year ago.

Pool 2 at Chamblee features Arabia Mountain Dunwoody, Druid Hills, Stone Mountain and Decatur. Dunwoody and Decatur face off in the opening match at 8:00 am. Arabia Mountain and Decatur were both playoff teams in the 2023 season.

Pool 1 at Miller Grove features playoff teams Cedar Grove and Towers along with Cross Keys, Lithonia and Stephenson. The two playoff teams from last year open pool play at 8:00 am as the Saints and Titans meet.

Pool 2 at Miller Grove has 2023 state tournament participants McNair and Redan taking on the challenges of Martin Luther King Jr., Columbia and Miller Grove. Host Miller Grove hosts Columbia in the opening match at 8:00 am.

Dunwoody won the 2023 Gold Bracket title by going undefeated and knocking off Decatur along the way before downing Lakeside in two sets in the championship match. Clarkston won the Silver Bracket among pool runners-up with a thrilling three-set win over Tucker. Stone Mountain clinched the Bronze Bracket title between third place pool teams with a three set win over McNair. Martin Luther King won the Copper Bracket by knocking off with a two-set sweep of Cedar Grove.
