DeKalb County put three players on the Georgia Dugout Club’s Coaches All-State teams this past spring as announced earlier.

Redan led the way with two Class 2A first team selections in senior Tyrell Wyatt and junior Collin Brightwell.

Brightwell finished the season leading DeKalb County with a .479 batting average and 53 stolen bases. He also drove in 24 runs with 22 extra base hits (14 doubles, 6 triples, 2 homeruns) as the Raiders reached the Sweet 16 of the Class 2A State playoffs.

Wyatt was just behind Brightwell in batting average hitting a .467 clip with 26 RBI, including six home runs.

Dunwoody’s Matt Pearch was named to the GDC’s Class 6A second team after an outstanding season on the mound to lead the Wildcats into a Class 6A state playoff appearance.

Pearch finished the season with a 6-1 overall record and a stellar 1.68 earned run average in 41.67 innings on the mound. He struck out 75 and allowed 34 walks.

All three were also name All-Region on the season joining 32 other DeKalb All-Region selections. DeKalb had 25 players named to first team in their region including three Pitcher of the Year Awards (Pearch, Houston Buck, Chamblee and AJ Holloway, Redan), two Players of the Year (Cooper Lewis, Chamblee; Collin Brightwell, Redan) and one Offensive Player of the Year (Wyatt).

Sixteen DeKalb players earned Second Team honors and eight added Honorable Mention accolades.
