The DeKalb Silver Streaks opened their Adapted Sports Handball season with a thrilling 16-14 road win over the West Georgia Wolverines.
Silver Streaks veteran Najee Smothers (Decatur City) was unstoppable for the Silver Streaks (1-0) has he scored all 16 points for the winning DeKalb team.
Cameron Smothers (Decatur City) did the job in goal to aid the victory which marked the first over West Georgia in several seasons.
Joe Patterson (Laurel Ridge Elementary), Noah Yanis (Druid Hills Middle School), Cleveland Elder (Druid Hills Middle School), Jamell Boston (Cedar Grove Middle School) and Josiah Jones (Salem Middle School) put together a great defensive effort for the Silver Streaks.
The Silver Streaks return to action on October 15 when they host West Georgia in a rematch at Druid Hills Middle School. Game time is 11:00 am.
