The GHSA State Golf Sectionals are Monday, and two DeKalb teams are set to try to qualify for their respective state tournaments by participating in the sectional tournaments.
The Chamblee Lady Bulldogs edged out Eastside 314 to 317 to claim fourth place in the Area 3-5A Tournament recently. Chamblee finished behind St. Pius (249), Northview (275) and Greenbrier (303).
Senior Olivia Li fired a back-nine 42 to finish with a 93 to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Sophia Li shot a 110 and Julia Mansour put up an 111 to round out the team scoring for Chamblee.
Trinity Walls (127) also competed alongside Deeksha Khaana (143) for the Lady Bulldogs.
The team heads to the Cartersville Country Club for the Class 5A girls sectional on Monday with the hopes of qualifying for the Class 5A State Tournament on May 16-17 at Okefenokee Country Club in Blackshear.
Dunwoody goes on the road to Valdosta for the Class 7A State Sectional at Kinderlou Forest Country Club after qualifying out of the Area 4-7A Tournament.
The Wildcats combined for a team score of 321 to finish third in Area 4 behind Mill Creek (301) and North Gwinnett (314). Braedon Rice shot a two-over par 74 to lead the Wildcats. Joining him in the team scoring were Bradley Stone (80), Ross Ackaway (83) and Caden Smith (84).
Dunwoody is playing to qualify for the Class 7A State Tournament on May 16-17 at Chattahoochee Country Club in Gainesville.
In individual play Druid Hills’ Davis Hall qualified for the Class 4A State Tournament on May 16-17 at Houston Lake Country Club in Perry. Hall was the low medalist not on a state qualifying team with an 88 in the Area 2-4A Tournament.
The Red Devils finished fourth in the area tournament with a team score of 422 trailing Perry (288), Marist (315) and West Laurens (348).
