Two win or stay home games are on tap in DeKalb this week involving three of the DeKalb teams playing for a playoff berth next week.

The Lithonia Bulldogs (3-6, 2-3) and Martin Luther King Lions (2-7, 2-3) lock up at “Buck” Godfrey Stadium on Friday night 7:30 with the final playoff berth from Region 5-5A up for grabs.

Lithonia has won three consecutive games to get into the position to play for a playoff berth. The Lions defeated Northview last weekend to move into the same position as the Bulldogs.

The winner will get at least one game and a trip to face perennial playoff power Cartersville in the opening round of the Class 5A playoffs.

The Dunwoody Wildcats (3-6, 2-3) knocked consecutive Region 7-7A foes Berkmar and Discovery for an opportunity against Duluth (4-5, 2-3) to earn a Class 7A state playoff berth as they host on Friday at North DeKalb Stadium with kickoff slated for 8:00 pm.

The winner gets the No. 4 seed heading into the state playoffs.

Two other games set for DeKalb Stadiums this week are key Columbia and Southwest DeKalb.

Columbia (7-2, 6-1) hosts South Atlanta (8-1, 7-0) in a key Region 6-2A clash. A win would send Columbia into the state playoffs as the No. 1 seed and host role in the first round. A loss drops Columbia into a possible three-way tie for second and more than likely a No. 3 seed and a road trip in the first round of the playoffs.

Southwest DeKalb (5-4, 4-1) hosts Northview (2-7, 1-4) in Region 5-5A in a 7:30 pm game at Hallford Stadium on Friday. A win would clinch a No. 2 seed and home playoff game for the Panthers.

A couple of road games have playoff implications as well. The No. 1 ranked Cedar Grove Saints (7-2, 6-0) can lay claim to the Region 5-3A title with a win at No. 8 ranked Sandy Creek (8-1, 5-1) on Friday at 7:30 pm. Miller Grove (6-2, 2-2) could capture a No. 2 seed and home game in the state playoffs with a win at Banneker against Hapeville Charter (4-5, 2-2) coupled with a loss by Mays to Marist.
