The Clarkston Angoras host the Druid Hills Red Devils tonight (Thursday) to open up a six-game home slate this weekend in DeKalb County.

Clarkston (1-3) is coming off a loss to Fellowship Christian last weekend and is looking to win its second game of the season for the first time since a 4-5-1 season in 2013. A 20-19 season opening win over Berkmar broke a 22-game skid for the Angoras. Clarkston did play in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Druid Hills (0-7) is in the midst of a 17-game losing streak dating back to a 14-7 win over Towers in 2019. Druid Hills only played three games in 2020 as the pandemic caused the season to be cut short. The Red Devils led Riverside Military for most of the game earlier this season before falling 32-26.

Five games are on tap in DeKalb on Friday with Southwest DeKalb (3-4, 2-1) traveling to Adams Stadium for a 7:30 pm kickoff with DeKalb rival Stone Mountain (4-3, 0-3). The Panthers are coming off a big Region 5-5A win over rival Martin Luther King last week. Stone Mountain dropped a heartbreaking 34-33 Region 5-5A overtime loss to Northview.

A doubleheader is set for Avondale Stadium with Towers (2-4, 2-2) entertaining Region 6-2A foe Lovett (4-3, 3-2) with playoff implications on the line for both teams.

Northview (2-4, 1-1) invades Avondale at 8:00 pm to face off with the Lithonia Bulldogs (0-6, 0-3). The Bulldogs and Coach Kevin Hill are looking for their first win in 2021.

Martin Luther King Jr. (1-5, 1-1) faces off with Top 10 ranked Decatur (6-0, 2-0) in a Region 5-5A contest at “Buck” Godfrey Stadium. The Lions are looking for an upset to stay in playoff contention.

Redan (2-4, 0-3) host Westminster (2-4, 0-3) in a Region 5-3A game at Hallford Stadium as the Raiders celebrate homecoming. Both teams are looking for their first Region 5-3A win.

Three key region games are set on the road for DeKalb teams this Friday led by No. 1 ranked Cedar Grove (4-2, 3-0) traveling to Rockdale County to take on Salem (4-2, 2-1). The Saints are coming off a tough loss in a 45-38 shootout against Lowndes last week as they begin their stretch run in Region 5-3A.

Arabia Mountain (3-4, 1-2) tries to climb into playoff contention with a tough road test at Top 10 ranked Marist (4-1, 1-0) on Friday at 7:30 pm in Region 6-4A. Another key Region 6-4A game goes down at Lakewood Stadium on Friday as Stephenson (6-1, 1-1) takes on Mays (2-4, 2-0) at 8:00 pm.

The Columbia Eagles (6-1, 5-0) go to Lakewood on Saturday night to face KIPP Academy (1-4, 1-2) as they gear up for a run at the Region 6-2A crown.

Cross Keys (0-5), McNair (0-6), Miller Grove (5-1) and Tucker (1-6) are all taking the week off.
