Tucker sophomore Gina Frazier got on the second step of the medal stand at the 2019 GHSA Dr. Lucia Norwood Gymnastics Championships last weekend with a silver medal finish in the floor exercise.
Frazier put on a top performance on the floor scoring a 9.375 to finished runner-up to All-Around champ Brianna Greenlow of state runner-up Lambert who put up a 9.900 to take the gold.
Frazier qualified for state in the uneven parallel bars (9.450) and the floor exercise (9.200). Lakeside’s Emma Cohen picked up a qualifying score of 9.500 in the balance beam to reach state. Cohen missed out on the medal stand.
Frazier won three of four events in the DeKalb County Gymnastics Championships to total a 36.95 score to nip Cohen by 0.35 points. Frazier won the vault (9.000), uneven parallel bars (9.400) and the balance beam with an excellent score of 9.700.
Cohen had a 9.900 in the floor at county while leading Lakeside to the team title.
