James R. Hallford Stadium plays host to a big doubleheader for DeKalb County football teams on Friday beginning at 5:15 pm.

Undefeated Arabia Mountain (2-0) battles with Redan (1-1) as the Rams look for a first ever 3-0 start to a season.

The Rams are coming off a 34-0 victory over Martin Luther King Jr. which was Arabia’s first victory in three tries against their rival down the road.

Quarterback Samad Noble threw for 124 yards, including a pair of touchdowns to Michael Miller (4 receptions, 89 yards), in the win over the Lions.

The win marked the second consecutive shutout by the Rams’ defense led by 2015 DCSD tackles leader Terray Bryant.

Redan picked up its first win of the season with a comeback 24-20 victory against the Lithonia Bulldogs last weekend. The rally was spurred by a three-touchdown, second-half performance by Cori Pritchett.

The Raiders are 1-1 on the season and trail the series with Arabia Mountain 0-2. Arabia won the 2015 matchup 24-14.

The second game of the night features 2-0 Southwest DeKalb hosting Class 6A No. 8 ranked Creekside Seminoles at 8:00 pm.

The Panthers are coming off a thrilling, down to the last second victory over then Class 3A No. 4 ranked Cedar Grove. Quarterback Justin Tomlin helped fuel the Panthers’ rally from an early 14-0 deficit into a 21-20 victory. Tomlin rushed for 118 yards and one touchdown and threw for another 110 yards and a touchdown in the win.

Creekside is coming off a tough 9-7 win over Norland of Miami two weeks ago.

North DeKalb Stadium is hosting a Gold Out against Pediatric Cancer as part of the Battle for the Golden Spike between Chamblee and Dunwoody on Friday at 7:30 pm.

The two schools have been selling gold T-shirts to raise money and awareness for Pediatric Cancer.

The Battle for the Golden Spike is in its third year as a reward to the winning team in this railroad series that is tied overall at 9-9 following Dunwoody’s 3-0 victory last season. Chamblee won the inaugural Golden Spike in 2014.

Senior Jansen King leads his Bulldog (0-2) teammates against the Wildcats (0-1) after having three receptions for 109 yards and a touchdown in a 19-6 loss to Decatur last week.

Josh Hodgins compiled almost 200 yards of offense in a tough 36-22 loss to Lakeside in the season opener for Dunwoody two weeks ago. Hodgins rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns and added 4 receptions for 46 yards.

The Class 6A No. 10 ranked Tucker Tigers (1-1) go on the road to face two-time state champion Colquitt County (0-2) in an 8:00 pm game on Friday.

Tucker rebounded from a tough 20-13 season opening loss to Kell to knock off rival Lakeside for the 16th consecutive season by a score of 48-10 last week at Adams Stadium. Chris Broadwater rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns and quarterback Xavier Shephard threw for two more.

Colquitt which won the past two Class 6A state championships is 0-2 after losing to No. 2 ranked Mill Creek 34-27 and American Heritage (FL) 17-14 to open the season.
