The Druid Hills Red Devils did not allow a shot on goal on the way to a 10-0 Region 5-4A girls’ soccer victory over the Cross Keys Phoenix on Tuesday night at Adams Stadium.
Druid Hills (7-1, 4-0) took 31 shots (28 in the first half) while taking a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into the game as Grace Blanchard lifted a shot from the right wing into the top left corner of the goal with 36:17 left on the first half clock.
It took Druid Hills another nine minutes before scoring again, this time on a 30-yard blast, straight away at the goal by Emily Meier to up the lead to 2-0 with 27:03 left in the first half.
Meier got down low in front of the goal less than three minutes later to up the margin to 3-0 at the 24:24 mark of the first half.
Druid Hills went on to add goals by Alyssa Estep (17:59), Emlen Cooper with two (9:13 and 7:43) and Blanchard’s second (1:02) to take a 7-0 lead into the half.

Cross Keys goalkeeper Liliana Casillas faced 28 shots on goal and came away with 12 saves as Druid Hills kept the pressure on the first half.
Izzy Zyglis beat Casillas one-on-one early in the second half to push the advantage to 8-0 and Asa Copeland hit a blast just 18 seconds later to make it 9-0.
Meier closed out the game as hat trick goal with 14 minutes to play closed out the 10-0 win.
Cross Keys dropped to 1-6 on the season and 0-3 in region play with the loss.
