The Dunwoody Lady Wildcats rallied from a 30-24 halftime deficit with 37 second half points to knock off the Chamblee Lady Bulldogs in a Region 4-5A high school girls’ basketball contest at Dunwoody on Friday night.
Erika Blake fueled the third quarter rally, scoring 10 consecutive points in a 10-2 run by the Lady Wildcats (7-10, 2-7) to regain the lead at 36-34 on a layup by Blake with 4:22 to play in the period. It was Dunwoody’s first lead since a 12-9 advantage with 2:45 to play in the first quarter.
The lead got up to 46-37 on a shot by Barnes with 2:04 to play in the third. Chamblee (3-10, 0-8) picked up a pair of baskets Brianna Wood in the final 57 seconds of the quarter to pull within in 46-41 with a quarter of play remaining.
Chamblee pulled within three twice in the first three minutes of the fourth quarter before Lilah Wenner got a put back off an offensive rebound and Johara Bello followed with 10-foot shot just 22 seconds later to push the lead back out to 53-46.
Wenner put up six points in a span of two minutes as the lead climbed to 59-48 with 1:07 to play. The teams traded baskets by Emma Harron (Chamblee) and Grace Brinson (Dunwoody) in the final 45 seconds to make the final of 61-50.
Chamblee took a 14-12 lead on a basket by Wood as she got a pass from Harron as the Bulldogs took a 16-14 lead into the second quarter.

Harron gave Chamblee a 28-17 advantage on a short shot off the glass with 4:21 to play in the first half. A Juju Martinez three-pointer was part of a 7-2 run in the final 2:49 of the first half to pull Chamblee back within 30-24.
Grace Binson scored back-to-back baskets in the final 14 seconds, including the second at the buzzer, to close the gap to six heading into the locker room with some momentum.
Lilah Wenner finished the night with a game-high 23 points to lead Dunwoody while Erika Blake added 18 points and Grace Brinson who finished with 12 points off the bench.
Brianna Wood put together a 15-point, 15-rebound double-double to pace a group of four Bulldogs in double figures including Sofi Marerk with 15 points, Emma Harron with 11 points (9 rebounds) and Tiffany Cobb with a 10-point, 10 rebound double-double.
