Twenty-three DeKalb offensive football players put together career and season marks to propel them up the ranks in the DeKalb County rankings during the 2024 football season.
The group included 17 seniors, four juniors and two sophomores that cemented their places in DeKalb County football history with outstanding career and season performance.
Dunwoody had three senior players moved into the Top 10 career marks for DeKalb County in quarterback Matt Pearch and receivers Danny Boden and Porter Allison.
Pearch is now ranked ninth all time in career passing with 5,025 yards and second in Dunwoody history behind David Ledoyen (5,147). He is fourth in completions (435) and attempts (704) while sitting in seventh for touchdowns (51).
Part of the reason for Pearch’s success is the two receivers he played with for the past three seasons in Boden and Allison.
Boden became the third leading receiver in DeKalb history with 2,425 yards that also put him first on the Dunwoody career list. His 222 total receptions are first in DeKalb and Dunwoody history and his 88 catches in 2024 set a new DeKalb County season record.
Allison is just behind Boden with 2,413 yards receiving for fourth in DeKalb history and second at Dunwoody. His 160 receptions are second in DeKalb lore and his 30 touchdowns are tied for third. His 1,027 yards receiving in 2024 made him the second Wildcat to have over 1,000 yards receiving in a season.
Stephenson senior quarterback Marte Barton led his team to the Region 5-3A title and the school’s first state semifinal berth since 2005 while climbing to 10th in DeKalb history and first at Stephenson with 4,894 passing yards. He is second all time in DeKalb in passing percentage at 65 percent (387-591) and ninth in completions.
Southwest DeKalb sophomore quarterback Braylon Carter moved into 41st on the DeKalb passing list with 3,561 yards in the air in just two seasons of play. He currently sits third in passing percentage at 65 percent (227-348). His passing total already has him in fourth at Southwest DeKalb.
Fourteen DeKalb performers eclipsed the 1,000 career rushing yards mark led by Columbia senior quarterback Cameron Graves who passed the 2,000 career level with 2,036. Graves played his freshman and sophomore years at Stone Mountain before transferring to Columbia for his final two seasons.
Stephenson had junior Anthony Booker (1,677) and sophomore Jayden Johnson (1,598) both had 1,000 yard seasons in 2024.
Cedar Grove senior Zsewaun Smith, Druid Hills senior Zachary Manning and Lithonia junior Albert Gooding all moved over 1,000 career yards as three of the five to rush for over 1,000 yards in 2024.
Southwest DeKalb senior receiver Samuel Turner became the Panthers second all-time leader in receiving with 1,950 yards. He is 10th in DeKalb in receptions with 117 and ninth in touchdowns with 23. Druid Hills senior Bre’Lon Cade joined the 1,000 career club (1,228) while hitting the century mark with 100 receptions.
Four DeKalb quarterbacks joined the exclusive club of 2,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing that includes just 20 players in county history.
McNair’s Jeremy Victor moved into fifth on this list completing his career in the Mustang’s first playoff game since 2007. Victor played in 37 games in his career passing for 4,046 yards and rushing for 1,999 for a combined 6,045 yards over his four years at McNair. He surpassed former McNair great Maurice Avery (4,453 passing, 1,350 rushing, 5,803 combined) to take over the No. 1 spot in McNair history. Victor had a combined 61 touchdowns (32 passing, 29 rushing).
Arabia Mountain senior Julian Shanks moved into tie for 11th on the list with a combined 5,106 yards (4030 passing, 1,076 rushing), a first for a Rams quarterback. He is second all-time in passing at Arabia his 648 career passing attempts is eighth in DeKalb history. He accounted for 53 touchdowns (43 passing, 10 rushing).
Columbia’s Cameron Graves is tied with Shanks at 11th with the combined 5,106 yards (3,070 passing, 2,036 rushing). He had a combined 55 touchdowns (35 passing, 20 rushing) for his career.
Lakeside senior quarterback Kyle Davis became the second Viking to reach this milestone with a combined 4,376 yards (2,832 passing, 1,544 yards) good for 16th on the list. He is also second all-time at Lakeside in passing and sixth in rushing. He finished with a combined 44 touchdowns (20 passing, 24 rushing).
