Cary Reynolds, Laurel Ridge and Stoneview captured their respective Area championships for DeKalb County Elementary Soccer in action over this past weekend.
In Area 1 it came down to a highly contested championship match between Cary Reynolds and Henderson Mill Elementary Schools. Cary Reynolds pulled out a 3-2 victory to claim the title at Adams Stadium on Saturday.
Semifinalists in Area 1 included Doraville and Hawthorne Elementary Schools. These two will join Cary Reynolds and Henderson Mill out of Area 1 in the single elimination DeKalb County Elementary Schools Championship on December 7 at Godfrey Stadium.
It was another thriller in the Area 2 championship between Laurel Ridge and Jolly Elementary Schools. Laurel Ridge broke a 3-3 tie with a goal in the final minute of play to take a 4-3 victory over Jolly at Hallford Stadium on Saturday.
Semifinalists in Area 2 include Briar Vista and Smoke Rise Elementary Schools. These two will join Laurel Ridge and Jolly out of Area 2 in advancing to the single elimination DeKalb County Elementary Schools Championship on December 7 at Godfrey Stadium.
Stoneview Elementary ran away with the Area 3 championship played at Godfrey Stadium on Saturday. Stoneview racked eight goals on the way to an 8-2 victory over Cedar Grove.
Semifinalists in Area 3 included Farrington and Wadsworth Elementary Schools. These two will join Stoneview and Cedar Grove out of Area 3 in advancing to the single elimination DeKalb County Elementary Schools Championship on December 7 at Godfrey Stadium.
