Another light schedule for DeKalb football this week as six teams are taking the week off and 12 hit the field looking for victories as the season is winding down.

Four games are on tap in DeKalb tonight including an all-DeKalb clash as Stone Mountain (0-7) hosts Cross Keys (0-6) on senior night at Adams Stadium at 7:00. The teams are playing for the first time since 1991 with the Pirates holding a 4-2 advantage over the Phoenix.

Both teams are looking for their first win of the 2024 season as they meet for just the seventh time despite first playing in 1976, a 40-12 win by the Pirates. Cross Keys picked up their only two wins in 1977 (14-7) and 1978 (20-14).

Stone Mountain has won the last three meetings including the last meeting in 1991 (21-0).

In a game that will probably decide the No. 2 spot in Region 6-2A has South Atlanta (2-5, 0-1) being hosted by the Miller Grove Wolverines (4-4, 1-1) in a 7:30 pm meeting at Cobb Stadium. Both teams have lost to region leader Columbia. This is just the second meeting between the two programs with Miller Grove having the lone victory in 2005 (33-0).

Redan (2-5, 0-1) hosts a Region 6-2A battle with Salem (1-4, 0-0) with eyes on securing a playoff berth under the new power ranking system being used by the GHSA this season. Salem owns the only win in the series that came in 2021 (32-16).

In a Region 4-5A match up in DeKalb, Chamblee (1-6, 1-3) is hosting Tri-Cities (4-2, 2-2) for Homecoming at 7:30 pm at North DeKalb Stadium. Chamblee is coming off a tough 13-10 road loss at Shiloh last week while Tri-Cities lost a 38-0 decision to Woodward Academy.
