Key victories on Saturday helped teams to claim region titles and secure spots in the Trail to the Title middle school football playoffs with one week to play in the regular season.

The Chamblee Bulldogs rallied for a 16-14 win over the Henderson Cougars to clinch the Region 1 title on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium.

Henderson (3-2, 1-1) took a 14-8 lead on an exiting reversing the field run by Jaiden Jackson and Jake Davis ran in the two-point conversion.

The Bulldogs (3-2, 2-0) answered with a hard-running Jonathan Williams touchdown run to tie the game at 14-14. He then took a bubble screen into the end zone for the game-winning two-point play.

Henderson opened with a 6-0 halftime lead on a punt return by Jackson. The Bulldogs answered in the third quarter as Marquis Jackson tossed a 15-yard touchdown pass to Mason Crabtree to knot the game at 6. They then took the lead on a two-point conversion run by Damion Garcia.

Lithonia 27, Tucker 0
The Lithonia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) clinched the Region 2 title and a host role in the Trail to the Title Playoffs via a big-play game in a 27-0 victory over the Tucker Tigers (2-3, 1-1) on Saturday at Hallford Stadium.

Quarterback Willie Jones Jr. had a big day with 228 yards and two touchdowns passing to key the big plays. He connected with Rohan Malcolm for 67 yards and Timothy Behling for 74 yards for scores. Behling also cracked the Tucker defense for a 63-yard rushing touchdown to finish with 208 all-purpose yards in the game.

The defensive shutout was keyed by Jamaurie Evans with nine tackles (3 tackles for a loss) along with sacks by Lamar McInnis and Javeon Harrigan.

Tucker faces off with Champion on Saturday to decide the final playoff team from Region 2.

Redan 14, Druid Hills 8
The Redan Raiders scored in the fourth quarter to rally past the Druid Hills Dragons 14-8 on Saturday to finish the regular season undefeated and as the Region 3 champion heading into the Trail to the Title playoffs.

Druid Hills (2-3, 2-1) grabbed an early 8-0 lead before Benjamin Jackson ran in for a score for the Raiders (6-0, 4-0) to pull them within 8-6 at halftime.

Jackson scored again in the fourth quarter to make it 12-8 and Demario Hopkins ran in the two point conversion for the 14-8 advantage. The Raiders defense took it from as Hopkins picked of a pass to seal the win. Reochaus Mills and Jayden Sumbry played big roles on defense along with Hopkins to keep the Raiders in the game.

Cedar Grove 30, Chapel Hill 0
Cedar Grove clinched the Region 4 title with a 30-0 victory over previously undefeated Chapel Hill in a matchup at Godfrey Stadium on Saturday.

Zack Bell led the way for the Saints (5-0, 3-0) with 100 yards rushing and three touchdowns. Antravious Howard Jr. and Dequarrion Trammell (75 yards rushing) each had a touchdown in the game as well.

Howard and Kaysean Moses both had interceptions in the shutout win. Jaiden Mincey had five tackles for a loss and a quarterback strip sack to go with five more tackles for a loss by Zyan Allison.

Chapel Hill (5-1, 3-1) had already clinched a playoff spot by running out to 5-0, 3-0 record to start the season and takes the runner-up slot in Region 4. The Panthers did force two turnovers on the day including an interception by Marquise Ealey and a fumble recovery.

Champion 32, Salem 0
The Champion Chargers moved into a second place tie in Region 2 and set up win or go home game against the Freedom Rams with a 32-0 win over the Salem Lions (1-4, 0-3).

The Chargers (4-1, 1-1) got rushing touchdowns from Chauncey Henderson (42 yards rushing) and D’sean Burkes (42 yards rushing) and a passing touchdown from Marcus Green (141 yards passing) to Tyson Zellers (65 yards receiving) in the game. Henderson also played a big role on defense with four tackles including two quarterback sacks.

Champion takes on Tucker (2-3, 1-1) on Saturday with the winner claiming the final playoff spot from Region 2.

Stephenson 28, McNair 0
The Stephenson Jaguars put themselves in the position to play for a playoff spot out of Region 3 via a 28-0 victory over the McNair Mustangs (0-5, 0-3) at Godfrey Stadium on Friday.

Stephenson (2-3, 2-1) moved into a tie with Druid Hills for second place in the Region 3 standings behind a three touchdown performance by Cam Livsey (TD runs of 26, 13 and 33 yards). Carlos Foney added a 17-yard touchdown run for the Jaguars.

Stephenson and Druid Hills face off on Saturday at 10:30 am at Adams Stadium with the playoff spot on the line.

Miller Grove 20, Stone Mountain 6
The Miller Grove Wolverines upped their record to 2-3 overall by knocking off the Stone Mountain Pirates (1-4, 0-3) 20-6 at Cobb Stadium on Saturday.

Jeremiah Ivy ran for two touchdowns to lead the way and Tyrese Harper another rushing touchdown in the win.

Freedom 62, Sequoyah 0
The Freedom Rams (2-3, 1-1) set up a showdown with Henderson (3-2, 1-1) for the final playoff spot from Region 1 with a 56-0 victory over the Sequoyah Braves on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium.

Anthon’e Harrell had 250 total yards to lead the Rams offense while quarterback Jabari Ponds hit on eight of 11 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns to receivers Deshaun Goodson, Success Holder and E.J. Johnson. Cori Burton added 70 yards rushing and two touchdowns on just three carries.

Dejuan Grier led the defense with two scoop and scores as he forced and recovered two fumbles.
