Five DCSD middle school football teams keep slates clean at 3-0 in Week 3 game action.

The Lithonia Bulldogs defeated the Freedom Rams 14-8 in a tight matchup at Hallford Stadium on Saturday to be one of five DeKalb County middle school football teams to improve to 3-0 on the season.

DePaul Peyton’s Bulldogs scored a fourth quarter touchdown and produced two big defensive plays to seal the win over the Rams (1-2). Darrin Priest had an interception and Lamar McIniss with a huge sack to close out the game.

Willie Jones Jr. passed for 168 yards and a touchdown of 65 yards to Chaheed Banks (2 receptions, 78 yards, TD).Timothy Behling accounted for 119 yards all-purpose yards to go with an interception on defense.

Redan 14, Columbia 8
The Redan Raiders got a big defensive stop in overtime on the way to a 14-8 win over the Columbia Eagles (2-1) in a Region 3 contest at Cobb Stadium on Saturday.

Columbia got the ball first in overtime but the Raider defense held to give the offense the opportunity to win the game. The Raiders got a touchdown run by Jayden Sumbry for the game winner in overtime.

The Raiders (3-0) led most of the game on a Benjamin Jackson 11-yard touchdown run and a Sumbry two-point conversation run.

Columbia got its eight points on a rushing touchdown by Demarco Cody and a two-point conversion run by Vincent Gilbert to tie the game in the fourth quarter. Cody also added an interception on defense.

Cedar Grove 46, Stone Mountain 0
Zack Bell accounted for three touchdowns to lead the Cedar Grove Saints to a 46-0 victory over the Stone Mountain Pirates (1-2) at Godfrey Stadium on Saturday.

Bell ran for a touchdown, passed for a touchdown and had a pick-six while Dmani Bent and Antravious Howard Jr. combined for 150 yards rushing with both finding the end zone once. The defense was led by Daysean Moses, Jaiden Mincey, Zyan Allison and Josiah Ashmon.

Champion 40, Chamblee 0
Six different Champion Chargers found the end zone to lead the Chargers to a 40-0 win over the Chamblee Bulldogs (1-2) on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium.

The Chargers defense put up its third shutout of the season led by Braylen Golden (2 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT) and Aiden Clark with a 50-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

ON offense the Chargers got touchdowns from Dralen Hinton, Kaejean Fitzgerald, Chauncey Henderson, Marquel Heard and Marcuse Green.

Chamblee was led by Mason Crabtree with two receptions for 40 yards and Meyers Moncrieffe with an interception.

Chapel Hill 20, Bethune 8
The Chapel Hill Panthers rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns to pull away from the Bethune Lions (1-2) in a Region 4 meeting at Hallford Stadium on Saturday.

Champion went up 8-0 with an eight-play, 65-yard drive in the first half to take an 8-0 lead into the break. Bethune knotted the game on the first play of the second half with a 60-yard scoop and score.

Champion answered with a 22-play, 78-yard drive to go up 14-8 and a six-play, 48-yard drive in the fourth quarter for the game clincher. Ramello Jackson had two of the Panthers rushing touchdowns and Makai King added the third.

Henderson 19, Salem 14
The Henderson Cougars rallied from a 14-0 deficit to knock off the Salem Lions (1-2) 19-14 on Saturday at Godfrey Stadium.

Two touchdowns by Jaiden Jackson and a quarterback sneak by Jake Davis completed the come-from-behind victory for the Cougars.

Tucker 56, Sequoyah 0
The Tucker Tigers picked up their first win of the season as quarterback Eric Howard and running back Jaylen Bogues both put up two touchdowns in the 56-0 win over the Sequoyah Braves (0-3) at North DeKalb Stadium on Saturday.

Defensive end Bryston Maxwell had a takeaway on defense to lead to another Tucker touchdown and also scored on a 20-yard scamper on a jet sweep. Wide receiver TJ Williams put another touchdown on the board with a 60-yard kickoff return. Zymere Hurt added a pick-six for the Tiger defense.

Druid Hills 16, McNair 6
The Druid Hills Dragons got their first win of the season via 16-6 win Region 3 win over the McNair Mustangs (0-3) at Cobb Stadium on Saturday.

The Dragons (1-2, 1-0) opened a 16-0 lead on the way to the win. The first score came on a 10-run, off-tackle run by Elijah Johnson with Malachi Lyons added the two-point conversion as the Dragons led 8-0 at the half. A Leetwan to Clarke 35-yard strike to the end zone and a two-point run by Raphael Snow made it 16-0 going into the fourth quarter.

The Mustangs cut the lead to 16-6 with a 40-yard touchdown pass to end the scoring.
