Tucker and Henderson both advanced their boys’ and girls’ teams into the DeKalb County Middle School Soccer Championships semifinals with wins on Wednesday.

The Henderson Lady Cougars (5-2-0) rolled into the semifinals with an 8-0 win over the Freedom Lady Rams (4-3-0). Henderson moves on to take on Region 1 No. 1 seed Chamblee Lady Bulldogs (5-1-0) at 5:30 pm on Monday (5/6) at Adams Stadium.

A tight battle in boys’ play had Henderson (5-2-0) pull out a 1-0 victory over the Freedom Rams (3-4-0) to advance. Henderson is pitted against Region 1 No. 1 seed Sequoyah Braves (5-1-0) in a 7:00 pm contest at Adams Stadium on Monday.

In first round action at Avondale Stadium, the Tucker Lady Tigers (6-1-0) picked up a 9-1 win over the Sequoyah Lady Braves (0-6-1) to move into the semifinals. Tucker faces Region 2 No. 1 seed Peachtree Lady Patriots (6-0-0) in a 5:30 pm game at Avondale Stadium on Monday.

The Tigers (5-1-1) pulled out a thriller winning a 1-1 battle with the Druid Hills Dragons (4-2-1) with a 4-2 advantage in penalty kicks for their spot in the semifinals. Tucker is set for a 7:00 pm meeting with Region 2 No. 1 seed Peachtree Patriots (6-0-0) at Avondale on Monday.

The championship games are set for Thursday (5/9) at Hallford Stadium. The girls’ winners collide at 5:30 pm with the boys’ winners set to follow at 7:00 pm.
