Four of the eight DeKalb County teams in the GHSA high school baseball state playoffs begin play today (Tuesday) with Chamblee as the only host team.

Chamblee (17-10) plays host to the Coffee Trojans (25-5) in a Class 5A best-of-three series beginning with a doubleheader at 2:00 pm today at Chamblee High School. The Bulldogs finished as the No. 2 seed in Region 4-5A to earn the host role. A third game, if necessary, is set for a 3:00 pm start on Wednesday.

In other Class 5A baseball playoff action, the Martin Luther King Jr. Lions (10-8) and Tucker Tigers (7-16) go on the road for their first round matchups.

The Lions, the Region 4-5A No. 3 seed, travel to Region 1 No. 2 seed Greenbrier (20-7) for a 4:00 pm doubleheader with a third game, if necessary, on Wednesday with a time to be announced. The Tigers, the Region 4-5A No. 4 seed, make the trip to Region 1-5A No. 1 seed Ware County (19-9) for a 4:30 pm doubleheader today. The Tigers and Ware would play a third game, if necessary, on Wednesday at 5:00 pm.

The Cedar Grove Saints (5-12) finished as the No. 3 seed in Region 5-3A and head to Dacula to take on Hebron Christian (16-13), the No. 2 seed from Region 8-3A, in the Class 3A first round playoff best-of-three series. The third game, if necessary, is set for a 4:00 pm start on Wednesday.

Dunwoody (6A), Druid Hills (4A), Southwest DeKalb (4A) and Redan (2A) all begin their best-of-three series on Thursday (4/25). See the schedule below.
