The DeKalb Silver Streaks are 2-0 in the Adapted Sports Wheelchair Basketball season following victories over the Gwinnett Heat and West Georgia Wolverines to kick off their year.
DeKalb picked up a 26-16 victory over the Heat (0-5) in their season opener as they work towards returning to the state title game in March.
The Silver Streaks followed up the win with a 33-25 victory over the Wolverines to stay perfect on the season.
Najee Smothers and Cameron Smothers were the scoring leaders in both games for the Silver Streaks.
Their cause was aided by the defensive play of teammates King James McMurry (Stone Mountain High), Joe Patterson (Laurel Ridge Elementary), Jamell Boston (Cedar Grove Middle), Will Jones (Druid Hills Middle) and Justice Smith (Academy for the Blind).
DeKalb returns to action on Saturday (Feb. 17) as they host West Georgia (1-2) and the Clayton Eagles (2-2) in a doubleheader.
The final regular season game is set for Saturday, February 24 with a trip to Warner Robins to play two games against the Houston County Sharks who are currently 4-0 on the season.
