DeKalb County School District is sending four girls’ flag football teams to the GHSA state playoffs on Tuesday as the teams take part in single elimination regionals hosted by No. 1 seeds.
Tucker (10-2) and Redan (14-2) both finished as the runners-up in their respective areas while Towers (13-7) and Miller Grove (8-5) both reached the state playoffs at No. 4 seeds.
Towers travels to take on Harris County (13-2), the No. 1 seed, in Hamilton. If the Titans win, they will face the winner of Hebron Christian (13-1) and Mt. Vernon (2-10).
Redan plays its Division 1 opening round game at 5:30 pm against Lagrange (6-3) at Pace Academy. A win would move them into the second round against the winner of Pace (17-2) and Oconee County (8-11) in the nightcap.
Greenbrier (14-1) hosts Miller Grove in the first round of the Division 2 state playoffs at 5:00 pm. The winner advanced to play the Paulding County (10-3) and Walnut Grove (10-3) winner in the nightcap.
Tucker goes on the road to Lithia Springs to take on Lakeside-Evans (16-7) in the 3:00 pm opening game. If Tucker wins, they take on the Lithia springs (15-1) and Jackson County (5-5) winner in the nightcap.
