The DeKalb County School District Department of Athletics is offering free track camps to all fourth and fifth grade students in the school district on December 2 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at three different locations.
Camps are designed to introduce students to the world of track and field in a fun and educational manner. All the camps will be led by experienced coaches who are passionate about promoting physical fitness and teamwork amongst young athletes.
The camps will feature a variety of activities, including running, jumping and throwing, while allowing students to discover their athletic abilities.
There is no cost for the students to participate. T-shirts and food will be provided for the attendees.
Students are encouraged to sign up at the stadium nearest them. The Area 1 camp is set for North DeKalb Stadium in Dunwoody, the Area 2 camp is set for James R. Hallford Stadium in Clarkston and the Area 3 camp will be at William “Buck” Godfrey Stadium in south Decatur.
The track camps are part of the DCSD initiative to implement elementary athletics in the district.
