The Chamblee Lady Bulldogs split a pair of games in the Class 5A Super Regional in Columbus hosted by Northside and plays at 3:00 pm today.

The Lady Bulldogs (22-4-1) knocked off Statesboro (14-9-1) 5-1 in the opening round of the regional. Chamblee came up short in the semifinal game dropping an 8-0 decision to host Northside (24-7).

Chamblee faces Statesboro (15-9-1), a 7-6 winner over Jones County (11-17) in the losers’ bracket game on Monday, in the 3:00 pm semifinal to see who will face off with Northside in the finals.

In other Class 5A Super Regional play at Ola, Arabia Mountain (7-11) fell 19-2 to Ware County (9-12) and were knocked out of the tournament with a 19-0 loss to McIntosh (12-13).

Lithonia also went 0-2 in the Class 5A Regional at Greenbrier dropping a 20-0 decision to the host team and falling 17-0 to Northgate to finish the Lady Bulldogs (8-12) season.

Cedar Grove’s season came to an end in the Class 3A Super Regional at Wesleyan as the Lady Saints fell 7-0 to Franklin County in the opening round before closing out the season with a 7-0 loss to Coahulla Creek in the losers’ bracket.

Southwest DeKalb (9-10) and Miller Grove (13-5) open Class 4A Super Regional play on Wednesday. Southwest DeKalb opens against Sonoraville (20-8) at 2:45 in the Super Regional at Lovett.

Miller Grove meets host Heritage-Catoosa (22-2-1) at 2:30 pm in the Super Regional hosted in Ringgold by Heritage.

Redan (7-6) also opens play on Wednesday in the Class 2A Super Regional at Banks County taking on host Banks Co. (19-5) in a 1:00 pm first pitch playoff game.
