Chamblee’s Kara Croone scored five goals to lead the No. 1 ranked Bulldogs to a 10-0 victory over the Ola Lady Mustangs in the second round of the GHSA girls’ state soccer playoffs at North DeKalb Stadium on Monday night.

Croone, who scored a goal off a deflection with 25:11 left in the first half to make it 4-0, put up four goals in the first four minutes of the second half to end the game by the 10-0 mercy rule.

Croone missed the first round playoff game due to an ankle injury looked to be past it as she came out firing away in the second half. It took just 19 seconds after halftime for her to pick up her second goal as she pulled the keeper out and then hit a crossing shot behind her to make it 7-0.

Sixty-one seconds later she took a cross from Ansley Harrison and put it into the corner for an 8-0 Chamblee advantage with 38:40 left on the clock. Croone struck again 29 seconds late as she picked up a carom off the goalie’s save and knocked it home to make it 9-0.

Kyla Osborne picked up her second assist of the game with a pass to Croone as the clocked ticked down to 36:00 for the game-ending goal and the 10-0 final tally.

Chamblee (18-0-1) needed six minutes at the start of the game to get on the board as Alessandra Washington took a pass from Osborne to score the opening goal of the game.

The Lady Bulldogs made it 2-0 28 seconds late as Solai Washington passed to Ansley Harrison who blasted a shot into the net.

Another pair of Chamblee goals game in less a two-minute span to push the lead to 4-0. The first on a big shot from Solai Washington on an assist from her sister Alessandra with 26:28 remaining in the half and Croone’s first came at the 25:11 mark to make it 4-0.

Solai Washington made it 5-0 at the 20:24 mark and Harrison upped it to 6-0 before the half. Chamblee finished the half with 20 shots and the game with 25.

The Bulldog defense limited Ola to three shots, two in the first half and one in the second, which were all saved by keeper Mary Entrekin. It was Chamblee’s 15th shutout of the season and seventh 10-0 win of year as the defense has allowed just five goals in the 19 games.
