The 2022 high school football season has just two weeks left as teams jockey for playoff seedings including six key games to be played by DeKalb teams this weekend.

Chamblee and Stephenson can sew up No. 1 seeds going into the state playoffs with victories this weekend.

Chamblee (6-1, 3-0) hosts Decatur (4-4, 3-0) in a battle of Bulldogs with the Region 4-5A title on the line. Chamblee is coming off a big 49-6 win over Arabia Mountain that sealed its first state playoff berth in 13 seasons (2009). A win over Decatur would assure the Bulldogs the No. 1 seed in the region heading into the playoffs.

Chamblee is led by senior quarterback Fabian Walker who threw for 152 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 105 yards and four more touchdowns in the big win over Arabia Mountain.

The Stephenson Jaguars (5-2, 3-0) hit the road on Friday afternoon to face off with Holy Innocents (5-3, 2-1) at 4:30 in a key Region 6-4A contest. Stephenson is coming off a bye-week after defeating Miller Grove 55-20 two weeks ago. Junior running back Devin Ingram is closing in on 900 yards rushing with 10 touchdowns to lead the Jaguars. Holy Innocents is coming off a bye week as well following a come-from-behind 36-34 win over Southwest DeKalb two weeks ago.

Two other big Region 4-5A games have playoff implications this weekend as well. Arabia Mountain (3-5, 1-2) and Martin Luther King Jr. (2-6, 1-2) are in an elimination game with the winner moving on to the playoffs. The two clash at Godfrey Stadium on King’s senior night at 7:30 on Friday.

Tucker (3-5, 1-2) is trying to play its way into the playoffs and a win over Lithonia (0-8, 0-3) on Friday at 7:30 at Hallford Stadium would more than likely seal a berth for the Tigers.

Miller Grove (3-5, 1-2) goes on the road to Banneker High School to take on Hapeville Charter (1-7, 1-2) in a must win situation for a playoff berth in Region 6-4A. The winner would have the inside track to the final playoff berth going into the last regular season game.

Dunwoody (5-3, 1-2) travels to Riverwood (1-7, 1-2) at 7:30 pm on Friday looking to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2009 and a winning record for the first time since 2011.
