The Dunwoody Wildcats joined the Lady Wildcats in the quarterfinals of the Class 7A state tennis playoffs via a 3-0 victory over North Paulding on Wednesday afternoon at Dunwoody.
Mark Romano put the first point on the board for Dunwoody by taking the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-1.
Another two-set sweep for Dunwoody came at No. 2 singles by way of a 6-4, 6-3 victory by Bobby Kitchin to pull the Wildcats within one match win to clinch the match.
The No. 1 doubles team of Sam Woodrow and Preston Files teams up to close out the match for the Wildcats with a 6-2, 6-2 win.
Dunwoody (13-3) moves on to a host role in the Elite 8 as West Forsyth, a 3-0 winner over Brookwood, comes to Dunwoody with a Final Four berth on the line. The teams meet today (Thursday, May 28) at the Vermack Swim and Tennis Center with play to start at 4:00 pm.
