The Dunwoody Wildcats open Region 7-7A Basketball Tournament play to kick off the road to the state playoffs tonight at 6:00 at Duluth.

The Wildcats (4-18) are the No. 7 seed and play the No. 6 seed host Duluth (8-16). The winner moves on to face No. 3 Archer at 1:30 pm on Saturday.

In girls’ play, the Lady Wildcats (6-14) are the No. 5 seed and play No. 4 seed Discovery (13-9) at 3:00 pm on Saturday. The winner qualifies for a state tournament berth and meets No. 1 seed Norcross (19-4) on Monday at 6:00 pm

Tucker is hosting the Region 4-6A Tournament which starts on Saturday (Feb. 12) with the Lakeside Lady Vikings (10-10) as the no. 4 seed taking on No. 5 North Atlanta (5-11). The winner earns a state tournament berth with a spot in the 4-6A semifinals against No. 1 seed Lovejoy (21-3) at 7:00 pm on Tuesday (2/15).

The Tucker Lady Tigers (3-19) are the No. 7 seed and face No. 2 seed Langston Hughes (20-5) with a state tournament berth on the line at 6:45 pm. The winner moves into the semifinals against the No. 6 seed Morrow (12-14)/No. 3 seed Westlake (11-8) winner on Tuesday at 4:00 pm.

Boys’ play has the No. 2 seed Tucker Tigers (18-4) matching up against No. 7 seed Lakeside Vikings (8-15) with a state tournament berth on the line. The winner moves on to the semifinals against the winner of No. 3 seed Langston Hughes/No. 6 seed Lovejoy game at 5:30 pm on Tuesday.

The Region 6-2A Tournament first and second rounds start on Monday/Tuesday at Columbia (boys) and KIPP Atlanta (girls). Semifinals (Thursday) and finals (Friday) will be held at KIPP. DeKalb entries include Columbia, McNair and Towers.

Sandy Creek is hosting the Region 5-3A Tournament with play set to begin on Monday (boys first round) and Tuesday (girls first round). All winners earn state tournament berths with semifinals set for Wednesday and finals on Friday. Cedar Grove and Redan are those competing from DeKalb.

Stephenson is hosting the Region 6-4A begins play with play-in games on Monday with play to follow the rest of the week. Arabia Mountain, Druid Hills, Miller Grove and Stephenson are DeKalb entries.

Decatur is hosting the Region 5-5A Tournament beginning with two play-in games on Monday (Feb. 14). The girls’ first round is on Tuesday and the boys’ first round is on Wednesday starting at 2:30 each day. The semifinals are on Friday beginning at 2:30 pm and finals are set for Saturday starting at 2:30. DeKalb entries include Chamblee Clarkston, Lithonia, M.L. King Jr. SW DeKalb and Stone Mountain.
