The Stephenson Jaguars extended their win streak to seven against the No. 10 ranked Martin Luther King Jr. Lions with a 35-0 Region 4-6A victory at Hallford Stadium that puts the Jaguars back in the race for the title.

Ryan Ingram put the Jaguars up early with a seven-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. Emmanuel Rios added the PAT for the 7-0 lead.

The Lions (4-1, 2-1) would lose their leader senior quarterback Jacobi Haynes and would struggle moving the football against the tough Stephenson defense the rest of the game.

Stephenson (4-1, 2-1) would take advantage with three touchdowns in the second quarter started by Deondre Jackson on a three-yard run. Rios connected on the PAT to make it 14-0.

Quashaun Johnson was up next as he got loose on a 52-yard run and with Rios’ third PAT it was 21-0.

Jackson go his second touchdown of the night with a 31-yard run with Rios’ PAT the Jaguars headed into the half up 28-0.

The final score came in the third quarter on Ingram’s second seven-yard touchdown run of the game. Rios hit his fifth PAT of the game for the final of 35-0.

Cedar Grove 57, Redan 0
Austin Smith threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to the No. 2 ranked Cedar Grove Saints to a 57-0 Region 5-3A win over the Redan Raiders (3-3, 0-2) at Godfrey Stadium on Friday night.

Smith got the Saints (4-2, 2-0) rolling with a 56-yard scamper for the opening score of the game. Luis Dominguez tacked on the PAT for the 7-0 advantage.

Chavon Wright added an eight-yard run and Smith connected with Janiran Bonner on a 46-yard touchdown pass to send the Saints into the second period leading 20-0.

Smith and Coreyon Cone hooked up on a 71-yard touchdown pass play to open the second quarter as the lead expanded to 26-0. Erik Harper found Bonner on a 46-yard touchdown pass and Dominguez’s PAT pushed the lead to 33-0. Smith returned to lead another scoring drive for the Saints as he found Bernard Mack for an 18-yard scoring toss. Rodjel Caine hit his second PAT of the half as Cedar Grove went into the half up 40-0.

Wright would add a 17-yard run and Harper a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter as the lead expanded to 57-0 with both Dominguez and Caine hitting PATs following the scores. Caine would add a 33-yard field goal for the final of 57-0.

The Saints’ shutout was fueled by Isaiah Ratcliff (10 tackles, 2 for loss) and Demarius Jackson (5 tackles, 3 for a loss).

Tucker 23, Lovejoy 16
Myles Crawley threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns in leading the Tucker Tigers to a 23-16 Region 4-6A victory over the Lovejoy Wildcats at Twelve Oaks Stadium on Friday night.

Tucker improved to 4-2 overall and 4-0 with the win to become the only undefeated team in region play.

Crawley threw touchdown passes to Isaiah Dunson (4 receptions, 73 yards) and Jai’Brain Bouye (2 receptions, 34 yards). The Tigers would also rush for 220 yards in the game led by Latavius Johnson (12 carries, 45 yards) who scored a touchdown.

Kyle Wright added a 30-yard field goal in the game.

Pope 45, Dunwoody 27
The Dunwoody Wildcats (2-3, 1-2) dropped a 45-27 Region 7-6A game to the Pope Greyhounds (4-2) at North DeKalb Stadium on Friday night.

Despite the loss the Wildcats had some outstanding performers in the game led by David Ledoyen who passed for 315 yards and a touchdown as he hit on 26 of 35 passes and a touchdown.

Tyler Eith had eight receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown and David Julian added nine receptions for 112 yards, four carries for 28 yards and a touchdown and a 93-yard kickoff return for a score.

Isaac Anderson had another strong defensive showing as he collected 20 tackles (13 solo, 7 assists) including four tackles for a loss. Cash Goolsby added 14 tackles (8 solo, 6 assists) for the Wildcats.
