The DCSD Middle School football season opens region play on the run to the Trail to the Title playoffs with six teams at 2-0 after the end of non-region action this past weekend.
Champion (2-0) has gotten out of the gate quickly scoring 32 points in both their wins after closing out Freedom 32-2. The Chargers’ defense has not allowed a point in season opening wins over defending champ Bethune (32-0) and Freedom (1-1) as the Rams benefitted from a safety by its defense as its only points.
Channing Henderson did the job offensively scoring three touchdowns and Milton Smith Jr. adding another touchdown.
Cedar Grove 36, Tucker 0
Another standout defensive performance came from the Cedar Grove Saints as they defeated Tucker 36-0 to improve to 2-0.
The offense excelled as well jumping out to a 28-0 lead at the half while committing just one penalty.
Tucker fell to 0-2 on the season.
