The U.S. Army All-American Bowl is presenting 2018 East Team wide receiver Joshua Vann of Tucker with his All-American jersey on Wednesday, October 18 at 10:00 am in the Tucker High School Auditorium.
Vann was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl as one of the top wide receivers in the country.
The senior recently became the DeKalb County all-time leader in career receiving yards with 2,367 surpassing Kelvin Kight (1997-99) of Lithonia who held the previous record of 2,303 yards for 18 years. His three receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns versus the Martin Luther King Jr. Lions put him over the top for the career mark.
The Tucker standout has played in 46 games collecting 119 receptions (2.6/game) for 2,367 yards (19.9/reception) for 37 touchdowns in three-plus seasons. His 2016 season including 63 receptions for 1,286 yards and 13 touchdowns, all three career highs, as he led DeKalb in receiving.
His current totals through six games (at least 4 remaining) are 31 receptions for 497 yards and 10 touchdowns (a touchdown per every 3.1 receptions) is also tops in the county in 2017.
The talented athlete also has a pair of punt returns for touchdowns in his career including a 75-yard return this season and a 55-yarder a year ago.
Vann recently committed to the University of South Carolina to continue his education and football career.
The 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl is set for January 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm and can be seen on NBC.
