Middle School football season moved past the halfway point of the regular season. Tucker (4-0) and Bethune (3-0) are the only remaining undefeated teams.

A 48-0 victory over the Peachtree Patriots gave the Tucker Tigers their 28th consecutive regular season victory on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium.

Latavius Johnson led the Tigers on the ground rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown in the Region 1 victory which improved Tucker to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in region play.

The defense picked up its third shutout of the season led by Joshua Morgan with 10 tackles, 3 for a loss. Peachtree fell to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Region 1 action.

Bethune 18, McNair 0
Following a week off the Bethune Lions remained undefeated with an 18-0 victory over the McNair Colts at Avondale Stadium on Saturday.

Rashad Dubinion was a wrecking ball on both sides of the football rushing for 105 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries and collecting 8 tackles and 1 interception on defense for the Lions (3-0, 1-0) in the Region 4 victory. Janirian Bonner contributed greatly on both sides of the football as well with 75 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns to go with 7 tackles (2 sacks) on defense.

Lorenzo McCall (6 tackles) and John Harris (4 tackles, 1 sack) were also parts of the stout defensive play for Bethune in the shutout.

McNair fell to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the region. Two-way starter Skyler Muhammad excelled on both sides of the football for the Colts and new offensive lineman Jahmari Ponzo played well in his first stint up front for the Colts.

Renfroe 26, Champion 12
Nahshon Smith scoring two rushing touchdowns to lead the Renfroe Bulldogs to a key Region 2 26-12 victory over the Champion Chargers at Godfrey Stadium on Friday.

Marquis Hood caught a touchdown pass from Harrison Hannah for another offensive touchdown by the Bulldogs (2-1-1, 1-1) and Phyrliss Clark recovered a Bulldog fumble in the end zone for the final score of the game. Luke Enfinger hit a pair of extra points for Renfroe.

Champion (2-1, 0-1) found itself in a 14-0 hole in the first half before rallying to within 20-14 with less than four minutes to play on a 48-yard interception return for a touchdown by Jordan Perry and a 22-yard touchdown run by David Brooks.

Renfroe held off Champion with an interception late in the game.

Salem 26, Redan 12
Jordan King rushed for four touchdowns to lead the Lions to a 26-12 Region 3 victory over Redan on Saturday at Godfrey Stadium.

The Salem (2-1-1, 1-1) defense kept Redan (1-2-1, 0-2) at bay with interceptions by Theodore Walker and Karl Perkins Jr.

Chapel Hill 26, Columbia 0
Ke’Antae Thornton scored a pair of touchdowns to lead the Chapel Hill Panthers to a 26-0 shutout victory over the Columbia Eagles at Avondale Stadium on Saturday.

Thornton was on the receiving end of a touchdown pass from quarterback Sadir Ryan and returned a punt for a score. Ryan scored on a touchdown run of his own.

The defense put together its second consecutive Region 4 shutout victory behind Josh Taylor’s two interceptions, one a pick 6, and another interception by Billy Johnson. Chapel Hill improved to 2-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 4.

Columbia dropped to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in region play.

Miller Grove 26, Freedom 8
The Miller Grove Wolverines improved to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in Region 3 with a 26-8 victory over the Freedom Rams (1-2, 0-1) last Saturday at Hallford Stadium.

The defense scored two touchdowns for the Wolverines while Jean Cherleus recorded 9 tackles (2 sacks) to anchor the defense.

Stephenson 30, Stone Mountain 0
Dylan Milbry threw for a touchdown, ran for one and completed two two-point conversion passes to lead the Stephenson Jaguars to a 30-0 Region 2 victory over the Stone Mountain Pirates.

Kiem Holmes got the scoring started for Stephenson (3-1, 2-0) with a 35-yard interception return with Milbry connecting with Travon Farrell for the two-point pass. Milbry struck again in the first quarter with a 40-yard touchdown pass play to Farrell and a two-point pass to Bryce Clark to make it 16-0.

Milbry added a four-yard run for a score to make it 24-0. Bryce Bowens finished the scoring with a touchdown pass play for 60 yards to Stephen Lewis. The Jaguar defense was led by Samuel Harris with five tackles, including 3 sacks.

Chamblee 44, Sequoyah 0
Chamblee moved onto the list of teams with a shutout with a 44-0 victory over Sequoyah on Saturday at North DeKalb Stadium.

The Bulldogs have one of the 23 shutouts put up by middle school defenses over the first four weeks of the season. Chamblee got touchdowns from Zion Taylor (2), Chris Massey, Fabian Walker, Jacari Waller-Watkins and Detrick Shugars.

Chamblee improved to 1-2 overall and 1-0 in the Region 1 standings while Sequoyah fell to 0-4 overall and 0-2 in the region.
