The 2017 DCSD JV Basketball Championship finals are ready to go on Saturday at Cedar Grove Middle School.

The boys’ championship is set to tipoff at 5:00 pm and will be a rematch of last year’s title game as Miller Grove (11-1) defends it title against Lithonia (11-1) who is in the game for the third consecutive season.

Miller Grove won last year’s matchup 44-30 over Lithonia. The Wolverines advanced to the finals with a 43-30 victory over Arabia Mountain (7-5).

Lithonia knocked off Southwest DeKalb (10-2) 57-44 to reach the championship round.

A new champion is assured in girls’ action as defending champion Redan missed out on the tournament this season.

Stephenson (11-1), the 2016 runner-up to the undefeated Redan squad 63-59, takes on Southwest DeKalb (11-1) which lost in the semifinals a year ago.

Stephenson had a low-scoring tussle with Arabia Mountain (9-3) as the Lady Jaguars prevailed 23-16 to move into the finals.

Southwest DeKalb lost in the semifinals a year ago, but battled to a 38-34 victory over Martin Luther King Jr. (8-4).
