Odell Ferrell hit seven of 10 free throws in the final 4:39 to key the Chamblee Bulldogs’ rally from a nine-point deficit to a 57-52 victory over their rivals Dunwoody Wildcats at Chamblee on Tuesday night.
The win gave Chamblee a sweep in their DeKalb rivalry after the Lady Bulldogs upended the Lady Wildcats 51-44 in the girls’ game.
Christian Williams hit a pair of free throws with 4:39 to play in the game to give Dunwoody a 49-40 advantage in a game the Wildcats led by 10 twice early in the fourth quarter.
Ferrell then went to the line twice over the next 30 seconds hitting three of four from the line and cutting the lead to 49-43 with 4:08 remaining.
Glenn Robinson got an offensive rebound with 3:45 to play for a put back and Ferrell glided in for a layup with 2:39 to play trim the lead to 49-47.
Andrew Littleton got loose along the baseline, took a pass and dunked above a couple of Wildcats to knot the game at 49-49 with 2:29 to play in the game. It was the first time Chamblee had not trailed since a 2-2 tie since the 6:53 mark of the first quarter.
Ty Lily hit one of two from the line for the Wildcats five seconds later to give Dunwoody its last lead of the game at 50-49.
The Bulldogs went back down the floor and Daz Riggins was fouled and again tied the game as he hit one of two from the line to make it a 50-50 game. Riggins then made a steal at mid court and found Ferrell headed to the basket and he was fouled.
Ferrell hit both free throws to give the Bulldogs the lead for the first time in the game at 52-50 with 1:25 to play.
Riggins struck again on the next play coming up with a steal on a deflected pass and moving quickly up court. He drove to the basket and as the defenders stepped towards him he threw a behind the back pass to Littleton for the layup and a 54-50 lead with 54 seconds remaining.
Sidi Diallo pulled Dunwoody within 54-52 by hitting a pair of free throws with 38 seconds to play.
Trailing 55-52 with 36.9 seconds on the clock following a Littleton free throw, the Wildcats’ Will Bentson dove for a loose rebound on the floor and was able to call a timeout. A three-pointer to tie the game was short off the rim and Ferrell would hit two of four from the line in the final 19 seconds to seal the 57-52 victory.
Chamblee (6-1) was led by Ferrell with 25 points and Robinson with 11 points and 9 rebounds. The Wildcats (2-4) got 18 from Lily along with 7 rebounds while Diallo added 13 points.

The Lady Bulldogs held off a late charge by Dunwoody to take a 51-44 win in the girls’ game to open the night at Chamblee.
Calista Miller’s basket off an assist from Tori Syphone with 2:07 to play gave Chamblee a 46-34 advantage just before a furious defensive pressure by the Lady Wildcats cut the lead to 48-44 with 29.3 seconds remaining on the game clock.
Kayla Blaise drove the lane for a basket at the 1:24 mark to get the Dunwoody rally started. Tia Fuller would hit a three-pointer and after a steal would pass to Kendall Smith for a layup to cut the Chamblee lead to 48-44.
Syphoe would hit the front end of a one-and-one and Simone Robinson hit both her free throws with 6.5 seconds to play to seal the 51-44 victory.
Dunwoody trailed by as many as 10 points on five different occasions in the second half, but would not go away as their defensive pressure forced six turnovers to help the Lady Wildcats get back into the game.
Chamblee never trailed in the game and Dunwoody only tied it once at 3-3 with 6:45 to play in the first quarter.
Syphoe who finished with 25 points on the night scored nine of her 12 first half points in the second quarter as Chamblee took a 22-15 lead into the half.
Simone Robinson finished just six points in the game, but grabbed 15 rebounds and Trinity Edwards added 12 points for the Lady Bulldogs (4-3).
Kayla Blaise scored 12 points to lead Dunwoody (4-2) and Kendall Smith would toss in eight points and pulled down 9 rebounds.
