Brandon Snowball’s 12-yard touchdown run with 2:38 to play sealed a 35-20 victory for the Arabia Mountain Rams over the Redan Raiders on Friday at Hallford Stadium.
Snowball’s run completed a 15-play, 69-yard drive that milked almost eight minutes off the fourth quarter clock after Redan (1-2) had pulled within 20-28 with 10:15 to play on Cori Pritchett’s 45-yard touchdown run.
The Rams, 3-0 for the first time in the program’s history, jumped out to a 21-6 lead at the half behind the play of quarterback Samad Noble.
Noble connected on a crossing pattern to Desmond Rocker with 8:51 to play in the first quarter good for 11 yards and the touchdown. Kameron Ward’s point after kick was good for a 7-0.
The Rams’ defense helped preserve the 7-0 lead twice as turnovers and big plays had Redan within striking distance of tying the game twice in the first quarter.
Michael Miller, who had a big pass reception in the Rams’ scoring drive, teamed up with Kolbe Alexander to stop Redan’s Cori Pritchett on fourth and goal at the Rams’ three-yard line. Following an interception Pritchett had the Raiders knocking on the door again when with 22 seconds left in the first quarter Chris Williams sacked Pritchett for an eight-yard loss to end another threat.
Noble drove the Rams down the field and his 23-yard run to the Raiders’ 10 set up Brandon Snowball’s two-yard plunge for a 14-0 lead with 7:07 to play in the half.
Pritchett scored on a 70-yard scamper up the middle on the first play following the kickoff to pull Redan within 14-6 with 6:44 to play.
Noble answered two minutes later with a 25-yard touchdown run that along with Ward’s third PAT of the half put Arabia up 21-6 at the break.
Arabia opened the second half driving for a score on Carl White’s 16-yard run which was set up by Noble’s 25-yard scramble. Ward tacked on the point after for a 28-6 Rams’ lead with 9:39 to play in the third quarter.
A Joseph Monson fumble recovery set up a one-yard TD run by Pritchett with 5:25 left in the third to cut the lead to 28-12 for the Rams.
Brandon Snowball finished with 98 yards rushing and two TD’s and Noble finished with 146 yards passing and 40 yards rushing with a pair of touchdowns to lead Arabia Mountain. Pritchett finished with 136 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead Redan.
Dunwoody 43, Chamblee 6
Quarterback Nick Pastrone, running back Josh Hudgins and running back Ethan Haas teamed up for six touchdowns to lead the Dunwoody Wildcats to a 43-6 victory over the Chamblee Bulldogs (0-3) at North DeKalb Stadium on Friday night.

The Wildcats (1-1) retained the Golden Spike Trophy for the second consecutive season and lead the all-time series between the two cities formerly connected by the railroad 10-9.
Pastrone threw for 200 yards and two touchdowns both to Hudgins (4 receptions, 63 yards) and rushed for a third. Hudgins finished with 106 yards rushing and a touchdown on six carries. Haas capped a 78-yard performance with two touchdowns on the ground in nine carries for the Wildcats.
Dunwoody led 29-0 at the half and a defense led by Brashaun Askew (13 tackles) forced three turnovers in the game and had a big goal line stand to keep Chamblee out of the end zone at the end of the first half.
Creekside 47, SW DeKalb 14
Creekside and Southwest DeKalb appeared to be on the way to a shootout until what was ruled a fumble by the Panthers turned the momentum in favor of the No. 9 ranked Seminoles in their 47-14 victory over the Panthers at Hallford Stadium on Friday night.
The Panthers (2-1) appeared to be on the way to answering a Rico Frye touchdown that gave Creekside a 20-14 lead with 1:36 left in the first half.
Southwest after being pushed back to its own three began to the move the football as Justin Tomlin connected with Javeon Cody for 32 yards and then Jamel Starks for 34 down to the Creekside 21. Starks hauled in a short pass, made a Seminole defender miss and was reaching towards the goal line as he was tackled after a gain of 18, but the ball ended up loose and ruled a fumble recovered by the Seminoles.
Creekside would come out of the half to score 27 unanswered points in the third quarter on a Gino Appleberry 30-yard run, a two-yard run for Frye’s second touchdown, a 20-yard score by Khalil McClain and a pick six by Lewis Parker that put the game away.
Jonathan Green’s catch from Justin Tomlin and bullish run into the end zone over a Seminole defender had given the Panthers a 7-0 lead with 4:49 to play in the first quarter. Creekside answered with a two-yard run by McClain and a McClain pass to Drayton Barnard for 9 yards and a score flipped the lead in favor of Creekside at 14-7.
Tomlin would help the Panthers answer as he connected for 17 yards to Calvin Scott Jr. to knot the game at 14-14 on Marquel Crowder’s second PAT of the half.
Tomlin led the Panthers with 217 yards passing and the two TD passes while Frye would rush for 107 yards and two TDs for Creekside.
M.L. King 28, Miller Grove 16

Miller Grove went into the half up 16-7, but a Brandon Dickerson touchdown pass play to Jamal Patterson closed the gap to 16-14 in the third quarter.
Williams would score from six and 10 yards on the ground to help the Lions to the win. Antonio Keenan’s 50-yard interception return set up the go-ahead score by Williams.
Tucker 21, Colquitt Co 20
Chris Broadwater put the Tucker Tigers on his back in the second half as they rallied from a 17-3 halftime deficit to knock off the Colquitt County Packers (0-3) 21-20.

Taurean Taylor’s 23-yard score pulled the Tigers within 20-19 and the Tigers went for the win. Broadwater would score the two-point conversion with just minutes remaining for the 21-20 lead.
Colquitt drove to the Tiger 15 with two minutes to play, but the Tigers recovered a fumble at that point to seal the win.
Broadwater finished the night with 188 yards on 22 carries. Tucker improved to 2-1 on the season with the win over the two-time Class 6A state champions.
