Coach Donnie Hayes and the Lakeside Vikings swept three straight from Newton County, prevailing 15-4 (March 14), 7-5 (March 16) and 14-3 (March 18) to move to 9-1 overall on the year.
Coach Patrick Wright’s Redan Raiders continued their dominating surge, besting Lithonia (17-5) March 14, Chamblee (12-1) March 16 and Chamblee (9-0) March 18 while moving to 8-2 overall with seven straight victories.
Coach Tyrus Taylor’s Southwest DeKalb Panthers likewise ran their winning streak to six, picking up three tough Region 6AAAAA decisions over Miller Grove (3-0) March 14, Druid Hills (11-10) March 16 and Stephenson (6-4) March 18 to improve to 10-2 on the year.
Coach Vince Byams and the Tucker Tigers kept pace with Lakeside at the top of the Region 2AAAAAA standings, sweeping Lovejoy by the scores of 16-1 (March 14), 12-2 (March 16) and 14-7 (March 18) to improve to 8-4 overall with seven consecutive victories.
