The DeKalb County School District is excited to announce #DCSDRockstheVote. This initiative, aligned with the district’s new Portrait of a Graduate, focuses on voter registration and voting.

To rock the vote, schools are hosting assemblies this fall to share voter registration criteria and register students to vote before the deadline on Monday, October 7, 2024. Schools will coordinate group trips to the polls during early voting (October 15 – November 1) and on election day (November 5). After casting their first vote, students will be recognized and honored by their schools for their civic involvement.

Only students who meet the eligibility criteria can register to vote. Get more information from DeKalb County Voter Registration.

For our younger students in grades K-12, DCSD has encouraged schools to conduct mock registration and voting activities. We believe this K-12 initiative will empower our students to take an active role in their communities and develop a lifelong habit of civic participation. Your support in encouraging your child to participate in #DCSDRockstheVote is crucial to the success of this initiative and is greatly appreciated!
